Thanksgiving Lessons
Learned the Easy Way
- Read your recipes a million times over.
- Work backwards and plan out the time everything is going to happen.
- Start earlier anyway.
Learned the Hard Way
- Have backup plans for potentially significant amounts of leftover herbs and/or celery.
- a. Buy the right amount of thyme in the first place.
- Line the bottom of EVERYTHING that goes into a heat source in foil.
- Make sure ALL your tupperware is clean on Wednesday.
- One gravy packet with four servings does not, in fact, make enough gravy for four people.
- Line the bottom of EVERYTHING that goes into a heat source in foil.

But what if it's something that goes into a heat source? Should you also line the bottom of THAT in foil?
Yes, Paul. Yes, you should.
Of course, should you forget the foil, the second best thing is having a dude around willing to scrub and scrub ... and scrub ...
